Salesforce Apex Core Programmer
Dzianis and I discussed the job/expectations in detail before I hired him. He knew I'd have to invest a lot of time/energy to give him the business knowledge needed and to understand an above average complexity business subsystem. I hired him and did invest that time/energy as well as gave him time to learn the system and review the code. A week or so after he started, he gave notice to leave - he found a different job he liked better. So, I am losing ground having to bring another programmer and train him. Denis did not work as diligently after he found his new job. The contract did not allow him to do manual billing so he should have been using the "Time Tracker" app for automated billing/payment. He unilaterally decided not to. On his last day (Friday night) sent a message for a manual 120 hours payment. I told him I would have to review but I guess I was too slow for him. He actually emailed several people at the company complaining. My review was a little more involved as it seemed like he may have inflated the hours billed. For example he charged 14 hours to right-align text in a datatable and still could not figure it out by his last day. I asked another of our contractors and he was able to right-align the text (plus auto adjust the width) within 2-3 hours. I also traveled at the time, but even then, we paid him within a reasonable amount of time given the circumstances. We discussed bonus in the beginning if he performed above and beyond and worked hard but unfortunately after he found another job he lost interest and performed just average. He seems nice enough. His skills did not have a chance to shine through given his short duration. I'd say about average given the issue with the last task. Not a good experience overall since he decided to leave after my investment in him but wish him well. Oh, and not cool emailing multiple people at my company complaining when he caused the issue to start with....
