During my 5+ years working on workflow automation projects I have acquired many skills and tools to use under my belt. This includes programming skills in Python, VBA, JavaScript which can come in handy in projects of complex nature.
But, what my experience has taught me is that the best solution is always the simplest. That's why in my approach to automation projects I always check possible solutions from most simple to complex. If something can be done using formulas, then there is no need for VBA and macros. If formulas are not enough, then I augment it with VBA. If all that is not enough, then I go to Python and create a custom desktop application that can run directly on your PC.
As you can see, it is very important for me to understand your workflow requirements in order to come up with the best solution that fits your needs.
