š¤ MY FLOW
First things first. Need to gather requirement from you. If it's a complex and large project, I always prefer to get on a call and discuss the requirement. If it's a small task, we can chat but If need, we can get on a call for that too. I do like to keep the communication very frequently.
Then I architect the solution. This involves diagrams, sketches and lots of thinking. If you need, I can involve you to that process as well. At least for outcomes. Usually for front end, this will be a server component first architecture if it's a brand new project but open to suggestions as always. backend will be a REST API with nest.js project. Initially I don't go for micro services, but as per requirement, we can go for that too. I always think the scalability, security and performance of the website. Backend will be heavy and almost all the logics will be in the Backend. Front end will be dumb. This is due to many technical reasons. Backend will work independently without front end due to above principle. Like to write clean code. I would love to create custom UI components from scratch using tailwind and maintain a custom ui component library according to your web app. But it's all based on your requirement. There are lots of UI libraries out there we can use. Both backend and front end will be 100% typescript.
Then I usually create a Next.js app with latest App router. Then I have set of tools, I usually go with. Next Auth, if need OAuth Provider. I'm open to custom credential validations as well. Zustand for client side state management. RTK Query for server side state management. I usually use native fetch for API requests since It's upgraded recently and I love that very much. Of course, I go with latest Next.Js server components with server actions and react latest useActionStates for API handling part. will do ISR, SSR and SSG based on your need. If there's SEO part that need to be done, you got it covered thanks to Next.Js SEO capabilities.
For Backend, I go with Nest.js and Authentication will be based on passport.js. Can create custom logins based on JWT tokens as well. ORM will be Prisma and usually go with PostgreSQL DB. Will configure Swagger and other necessary API documentations as well.
For front end, I usually go for Vercel for deployment but I have experience deploying next.js websites into Azure and Netlify as well.
For backend, I usually go with AWS beanstalk which is really cool. DB will be on AWS RDS. I will configure the pipeline using AWS Code pipeline. We have AWS S3 bucket if need some storage as well. For monitoring and logs, AWS Cloudwatch will come to rescue.
Above flow is my standard go to flow but this will be changed based on your project requirement.
