I am an accomplished entrepreneur. At various points in time, I had my software used on 4 continents. I know what the pitfalls are. The worst thing inventors do is toss a concept at outsourced engineers and say "go build it". You might as well put your money on a Vegas roulette table :)
Taking times to really refine product specs and choose the best tech stack and platform, and then writing very precise specs and executing, is how the best products out there were created.
I'd break it down to 3 parts
1) Explain your idea to me. Let's flesh it out and think what the best approach is. Is it mobile-first? Should it be a SaaS product hosted on AWS? What APIs would it use? How would users engage and how would you save data?Etc.
2) Put pen to paper and actually write out specs. Engineers execute on very precise specs. When the tasks are well defined and chunked out, every resource knows exactly what their deliverable is and how all the puzzle pieces fit in.
3) If you'd like me to, I can build your MVP. It's more expensive, in some cases, but it will be something that will work great, look great, and you could roll out and raise VC money on. I've done it many times before.
