Most Stripe billing problems I get hired to fix come from the same place: checkout works in a demo, then real subscriptions, failed cards, upgrades, and cancellations drift out of sync with the app's own database. I set up the whole loop so that doesn't happen.
I've worked on payments at close range. I contributed to the official Stripe and PayPal Webflow marketplace apps — Connect onboarding, Payment Links, checkout, and the webhook handling behind payment events. And I built the full Stripe billing layer inside Synqo, a multi-tenant SaaS I wrote solo, where each tenant's plan and access had to stay correct off the back of webhook events.
For your project I wire Checkout or the Billing Portal, create your products and prices, and build signed, idempotent webhooks that keep subscription state truthful in your database. You get a clean test-mode run before any live key is touched.
