Project details
You will get an experienced vocal coach's assessment of your speaking voice. This is not an assessment of whether you have a "good accent" or a "bad accent." I will listen for rate, volume, pitch, and other speech markers that either enhance or hinder your vocal expression depending on the context. I will offer you some detailed information on what I hear. You will also receive backround information.
We will begin by engaging in some casual conversation. I'll be listening and taking notes. At some point, I will ask your permission to record your voice. You can turn off your camera for this portion--I am only interested in the audio recording. I will ask you to read several samples of diagnostic text. If you have any recordings or videos of you speaking, you can send them.
I will use the audio recording and speech analysis software to learn more about your voice. If relevant, I will include some spectrograms and pitch contours in your deliverable.
