Marketing Plan Development for New Book Launch
I engaged this agency to manage the Amazon advertising campaign for my newly launched book. Throughout the engagement, the team was professional, responsive, and communicated the campaign setup process clearly.
A key reason I selected them was their proposal to conduct market research, understand my book's unique value proposition, and apply their experience in book marketing to develop a targeted advertising strategy. Unfortunately, this was the area where the engagement fell short of my expectations.
While the team demonstrated competency in setting up and managing standard Amazon PPC campaigns, I did not see the level of strategic analysis, audience segmentation, or customized recommendations that I was looking for. After the initial campaign produced very limited results, we shifted to an entirely different target audience, but that approach also did not generate meaningful traction. I had expected a more structured optimization process with data-driven hypotheses and iterative improvements before recommending major changes.
One recommendation was to redesign the book cover, which may ultimately have merit, but I felt it was presented too early in the process without sufficient supporting analysis or exploration of other optimization opportunities.
Overall, I believe this agency is well suited for clients seeking standard Amazon advertising execution. However, authors or businesses looking for a more consultative, strategy-driven approach centered on market positioning, messaging, and audience development may want to discuss those expectations in detail before engaging.
