Unlike other freelancers, I base my keyword research document(s) on pages, not a total number of keywords. It doesn't help you to have a large document of random keywords, you need highly targeted search terms that are mapped to specific pages.
If you come across people who add keywords like "near me" and "best", be wary. These are not expert-level SEOs. You don't need to add "near me" to keywords because Google knows your location and serves hyper-local results for businesses that are close to you.
