Mom says I started doing voiceovers at a young age. Like, around two years old. There I was, in my birthday suit, on the rooftop of our home in San Juan, Puerto Rico, mimicking the street vendors below who were hawking newspapers and fried plantain chips. (I don't have any actual data to support it, but I have no doubt that sales were brisk on our street.)
In college, my chosen field of study was media. I also took classes in theater arts. I was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon in the field of Telecommunications (TV & Radio).
After graduation, I was signed by a leading talent agency, booking jobs in radio and television (both voiceover and on-camera) while working a day job as a radio traffic reporter. Along with my work as a professional voice actor I have worked in related areas as a radio advertising copy writer, producer, host, and creative director.
I received professional theatrical, on-camera, and voice acting training from respected coaches Bob Allen, Jessica Stewart, Susan McBerry, Randy Hoey, Russ Fast, Janet Day, and Gloria Manon.
Outside of Upwork I normally work under the stage name, "David Landon". I have been privileged to be represented by top talent agencies in Portland, Oregon.
Fast-forward to the modern era, Web 2.0, desktop audio production and broadcast-quality home studios. I presently work with global clients recording a variety of project types in many genres including voiceovers for corporate, medical, and industrial narration, explainer videos and e-learning modules, as well as voice recordings for telephony messages.
I am able to modulate my tone to deliver a range of sounds, from a younger, middle-aged adult to a more mature, older-sounding voice.
