Joel has been a fantastic, insightful, and creative video editor to work with over the last year. His experience in the outdoor and fishing industries is rare, and extremely beneficial to you if you're seeking that background in particular. Not only is he a great editor on a technical basis, he is able to help craft video storylines, help you plan, and help convey a cohesive message using video as an art form. For context, Joel and I primarily created videos using my footage for publishing on youtube. I look forward to what we may be able to create together in the future.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in New Media and Communications Technology from The Ohio State University, where I discovered my passion for filmmaking, photography, and new media art. I started my own video production business, Joel Ruby Studios, in 2017, and specialized in outdoor adventure filmmaking for three years, working with The Orvis Company in Vermont. I moved back to Chicago in 2020 to expand my business to include music videos, short films, documentaries, and hybrids thereof. I have award-winning skills in video editing, video production, and videography, and I hold a UAS Part 107 Drone Certification. I am always eager to learn new technologies and techniques, and create digital media that inspires, teaches, and entertains.

Let's talk about shat you have in mind! This 15-30 minute meeting will help me understand what you want out of your media package, and what's possible given your budget, timeline, and core expectations.
Production
I come to you, or you come to me! We shoot our video starting at a minimum of 2 hours set time. You and I work together to arrange our locations, props, and actors. Then, I get to work shooting your video
