Portuguese voice-over male
The person didn't rush to work and asked for more time to deliver on the due date. No problem, I granted the extension... Then, they were asked to raise the price slightly, citing Upwork commission concerns. I agreed.
The next day, I started nitpicking the text, claiming there were errors in the dubbing script and suggesting that some program he found could do the translation automatically, but at a higher cost!
I refused, and in turn, he asked that we revisit the topic of raising the price as the channel grows...
I told him that wouldn't happen, because I need an employee for the company, not someone just playing the market.
Why should we constantly renegotiate terms and prices after the contract is signed? This puts me, as the client, in a risky positionāonce people get used to a particular voice, he could constantly leverage it to demand higher pay.
