If you are looking for a manuscript critique, then this means your manuscript is finished but needs a professional evaluation before editing occurs. I will provide this by way of a 1-3 page document (depending on tier) containing:

1. An honest and detailed review of your manuscript. I’ll detail the good, the bad, and the in-between. I will emphasize what I love about your work, but I will also detail what is not working. I will also detail the WHY of my review. My goal is to help you as an author, but I can’t help you without being honest. No one likes criticism, but as a former teacher, I know how to provide constructive criticism that will enable you to make your story the best it can be.

2. Actionable steps to improve areas of weakness with plot, structure, pacing, and characters.

3. General advice on notable grammatical or syntactical errors I find in my reading. This will typically present itself in patterns of error–all writers have particular areas they struggle with. A critique is not an edit--feel free to ask for more details on this distinction.

4. Specific detail on areas requested by the author for review, provided they fit within the critique's maximum length.
