About Dioli Ann
Scientific Writer, Researcher and Editor (PhD Biology)

I have published several scientific articles related to the morphology, molecular systematics, evolution, and metabolomics of seaweeds. More recently, I published an article on the seagrass diversity of my hometown in the Philippines. I have also written research proposals for grant applications and status reports of marine resources. My research and written work have not gone unrecognized. The Flanders Marine Institute granted me the best thesis award for my Master's thesis.
As a former educator, I taught technical writing to Biology students. I also supervised thesis students. During this stint, I improved my skills in correcting and editing research proposals, thesis drafts, PowerPoint presentations, and other technical reports. I also became familiar with the writing style recommended by the Council of Science Editors.
I do not limit my writing and editing to biology. Before ODesk, I have been editing articles in archaeology, library science, and other social science topics. I also edit business and job application letters. I love to learn and have a wide range of interests (e.g. photography, organic farming, travel, and culture). That is to say, I welcome writing or editing tasks on other topics.
