My name is Anđelka and I am a freelance writer/English teacher/translator . Born and raised in the small city of Valjevo in Serbia, a turbulent country in the western Balkans where, due to never-ending political and social turmoil, life is never boring. I am a graduate of English language and literature from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. I’ve been a dedicated teacher and translator for the past 10 years, but I am also very passionate about writing. Through teaching I have had the opportunity to gain insight into a wide variety of topics, as well as different perspectives from people from diverse age groups, backgrounds and nationalities, which is where I find most of my inspiration.
Different cultures inspire me and as an avid traveler I mostly enjoy writing about the cultural and historical heritage of diverse nations and countries. I’m actively seeking unknown cultural horizons to explore and introduce to the world. I also like to keep up to date with current events in my region and worldwide, so I spend my mornings sipping coffee and browsing through news from all around the globe, which is always an excellent source of ideas for a new piece of writing.
