Structural Editor for Narrative Nonfiction Manuscript Whitney is the best. A total book genius. She sees exactly what a manuscript needs, and somehow makes everything feel calm, clear, and possible. She is also lovely, kind, and wonderful to work with.

Structural Editing for a non-fiction book, Round 2 Whitney is a brilliant structural editor. This is our second round! She is kind, fun, and very encouraging, the sort of person who makes a long, difficult process feel lighter and more possible. She brings intelligence, instinct, and real insight to the work, combining sharp editorial judgment with excellent solutions. She can see where a manuscript needs more depth, momentum, or clarity, but never approaches them in a mechanical way. She is thoughtful, collaborative, and a huge pleasure to work with.

Narrative Nonfiction Editor Needed for Final Structural Review Whitney is amazing to work with. She is lightning fast, wonderfully responsive, and operates at a rare level of clarity. She explains what’s needed with clear examples and helps you understand the underlying structural issues, not just patch surface problems. She has an exceptional grasp of large contexts and can see the shape of a manuscript even when you can’t.

She works incredibly hard and her guidance will put your thinking on a completely new track. Her professionalism, energy, and clear structural thinking make her a terrific partner as you navigate the many difficult twists of writing a book.

Anyone who gets to work with Whitney should count themselves very lucky. She is a total pro. Highly recommended.

Script review I feel very lucky to have found Whitney, she’s an exceptional storyteller and a generous, thoughtful collaborator. She took the time to truly understand my vision and helped me shape the documentary script in a way that stayed authentic while significantly elevating it.

She’s generous with her time and knowledge, often sharing thoughtful resources and references that genuinely strengthened my work and made me learn about storytelling. What I appreciate most is how respectful she is of creative direction, she always brings fresh, insightful ideas to the table, but never imposes them.

I learned so much from working with her, about storytelling, structure, and the craft of documentary writing itself. She’s meticulous, kind, and supportive, and working with her was both inspiring and genuinely enjoyable. I can’t recommend her highly enough for any documentary script project.

Most authors who come to me have been circling their real argument for years. They know something is there. They can't quite name it yet.

I find it. Then I show them exactly how to build around it.

My name is Whitney Noziska and I'm the founder of a Narrative Consultancy in Los Angeles. Authors trust me with the messy version of their thinking, and I take that seriously. Cultivating that trust is the part of this work I love most.

Berrett-Koehler Publishers keeps me on their roster for special projects that need a keener eye. Professional ghostwriters consult me and I'm frequently hired by authors after other developmental editors have already worked on their manuscripts. Authors I've worked with have been distributed by Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, and Wiley.

I primarily work with subject matter experts: scientists, professionals, academics, and thinkers who have something genuinely new to say. I read a manuscript asking three questions: what is this author really trying to say, why should anyone care, and is the argument being made effectively. Then I give clear, actionable recommendations with explanations, so the author understands their own work better coming out than going in.

I'm equipped with an MBA and think like an acquisition editor. I know what gets picked up and why. When I recognize talent, I root for it, and when I see a resonant idea, I build toward it.

Authors who work with me tend to stay in touch.

If you have real thinking and need someone to help you see it clearly, send me a message.

CLIENT PROFILE

I work best with authors who have something genuinely original to say and know it, but can't yet see their own argument or narrative clearly enough to make it land. Subject matter experts. But also fantastic fiction writers, screenwriters and documentarians. Writers serious about contribution.

I invest my time in projects and authors I like.

If you're looking for line edits, grammar polish, or a fast turnaround on a cleanup job, I'm not the right fit.

NOTE

I don't offer ghostwriting services. I can work with your ghostwriter on concept and structure, but I am not a ghostwriter.
