Hi, welcome to my Beta Reading project.
I am a published author and a certified professional Copy/Line-Editor and Proofreader. I am also part of the Review Team for the Online Book Club. I know what makes a book work, both from the perspective of a reader, as well as that of an editor. I will use my training, experience and expertise to guide you, improving your writing and developing your storytelling abilities.
You will receive your original Word document (with in line comments and suggestions) and a detailed Reader's Report covering the following areas:
Readability - The structure of the writing, its pace, tone and flow, and whether it was enjoyable or had areas that needed developing.
Opinions - Covering the plot (strengths and weaknesses), the characters (how they develop during the story), the hook and conclusion, the twists, and how you deal with moments of suspense, tension, or action.
Writing style - Your style of writing from a technical perspective (use of vocabulary, grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc). Your use of dialogue (too much, too little, dialogue tags).
Answers to any specific questions or areas for attention.

About Andrew

I am a British certified professional copy/line editor and proof-reader, and the author of 6 novels.
Many of these former roles have helped to develop my skills in writing, paying particular attention to detail, and enhancing my editing abilities.
I have put these skills into practice, firstly by writing 3 memoirs, and secondly, by drawing on my police experience by writing 3 crime/fiction novels. As part of the publishing process, I taught myself the skills of editing and proofreading (finding that I had a natural ability in these fields).
Since then, I have trained, and graduated, with the College of Media and Publishing (CMP) and with the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) to formalise my qualifications. I am now trained to the most recent international standards in these skills, and can turn my abilities to any English text in any part of the world (adapting my skills accordingly).
I have been freelancing in writing, editing and publishing for the last 8 years, helping self-published authors to polish their novels prior to publication. Many have gone on to receive rave reviews for their books.
