Hello there! Let me share a bit about myself. I worked as a Senior Accountant at Best Jollitown Foods Corp, a franchise of the Philippines' top fast-food chain, Jollibee Foods Corp. I began as an Accounting Assistant, where I handled various responsibilities checking daily sales report (DCR), spot auditing of Senior Cashier and Cashier’s, manual timekeeping, monitoring of accounts receivables and payable, overseeing month end inventory, processing taxes such as 1601C- Compensation, 1619E- Expanded, 1601F- Final, 2550M & Q Value Added Tax. I also managed payroll for rank and file and contractual employees. Over the years, I earned a promotion to Senior Accountant, where I oversaw three Jollibee stores (JB Puregold San Pablo, JB Puregold GMA Cavite, & JB Agro Star Mall Plaza). However, things took a turn when my boss decided to close JB Puregold GMA Cavite in 2018. Then, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they made the tough decision to close my mother store, JB Puregold San Pablo, in September 2020. Given the challenges, including limited transportation and concerns about COVID-19, I reluctantly decided to let go of the remaining store, JB Agro, that year. It was a difficult choice to leave a place where I had been so comfortable and had built up years of experience. However, I prioritized safety, not just for myself but for my entire family. As a Senior Accountant, I shouldered significant responsibilities. The higher the position, the greater the accountability, and I willingly embraced this challenge. I'm grateful for taking the risk to become a Senior Accountant because it expanded my accounting knowledge significantly. In this role, I handled critical reports, including the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Audited Financial Statement. I was also responsible for ensuring compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), which involved finalizing various tax matters such as Annual Compensation, Expanded, Final, VAT, and ITR. I also managed the accounting processes for newly opened companies and for those undergoing closure. I'm honored to have received a promotion, even though I am not a CPA. Currently, I work as an Accounting Associate while also freelancing part-time. In my freelancing role, I handle clients in the United States with diverse business entities, including real properties, salons, restaurants, and more. Initially, I lacked knowledge about US and Australian taxes, as well as QuickBooks desktop and online applications. However, I willingly took on the challenge of this new career chapter, which involves outsourcing. I quickly adapted to new tasks and acquired knowledge about my work. I applied the expertise I gained from my previous job in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and preparing ITRs, while also staying updated on IRS rules. My work performance has significantly improved, as evidenced by receiving the "CREATE TRUST" employee award for two consecutive years.
