When I ended the contract, the freelancer accused me of being a scammer. She opened a dispute, claiming she completed 90% of the work with only minor issues remaining. In my conversation with the Upwork dispute agent, I expressed that she was unprofessional and lacked skills. She had shared her WhatsApp number, which I regret adding, and often replied late.
Despite hiring her as a fellow country person and a rising talent, the project, initially estimated at 10 days, stretched to over 1.5 months with numerous issues. The categories weren't set correctly, spelling mistakes persisted, and requested features like enabling picture downloads were not implemented properly.
During the dispute, she displayed unprofessional behavior, insulting and accusing me of being a liar and a cheater. Eventually, to end the ordeal, I agreed to pay $100 as compensation. I caution others to be patient if they choose to work with her, as she lacks graphic design skills and needs guidance even for basic tasks like correcting spelling mistakes. Consider opting for a more experienced professional to avoid wasting time and money on a less experienced freelancer.
