Example... No, I don't like it... my reply would be, "certainly you have a reason for feeling this way, would you mind sharing this with me?" But ... i would phrase it using mirroring, using their slang, their level of comprehension... you cannot say to some people "for your edification" instead you say hey, so you know blah blah.
