1. Translation: English to Korean, Korean to English, French to Korean, French to English I grew up speaking both English and Korean. I was born and raised in Seoul and later moved to San Diego where I am currently based. At Yale, as a french major, I had the opportunity to study at Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. I also spent two summers there, working at Galerie Maeght and Atelier Isabelle Menu. Thanks to my background, I can understand and distinguish the nuances in three different languages, rooted in three distinct cultures. Since joining Upwork, I have worked on a wide range of projects including MTPE, emails, letters, presentations, websites as well as legal and medical documents. I have also interpreted webinars and court hearings. I provide translations that are not just accurate but relevant. Language is dynamic and adaptive: New words are created. Some change meanings over time or die out. This pattern reflects broad social changes, including shifting norms. I strive to take these observations into account when I translate or interpret for my clients. In short, I can guarantee high quality work, based on intimate knowledge of the culture and 5+ years of industry experience. 2. Editing As an editor, I support projects in various stages—from shaping ideas to proofreading the final draft. I specialize in essays for college and grad school applications, cover letters, research papers, and presentations. Writing is never easy. Telling stories to strangers makes us feel vulnerable. Besides, we are never sure if we used the right word or the right tone. I can offer clear suggestions, so the writer can benefit from constructive feedback. As for style, I prioritize highlighting each writer’s unique voice to ensure a compelling read. About Me: I graduated from Yale with a BA in French and History of Art in 2016. At Yale, I received the 2015 Scott Prize for the best French essay. (The paper analyzed the cinematography in the 2013 film "Blue Is the Warmest Color.") I helped found the Yale Photography Society where I co-organized the annual student exhibit and taught Korean at the Center for Language Study as a peer language tutor. My early experience is built around short-term projects: I translated curatorial texts at Galerie Maeght in Paris and edited a book by the residents at MeetFactory, a contemporary art center in Prague. Shortly after moving to LA, I interned at Matthew Marks and the American Cinematheque. At the latter, I had a unique experience live interpreting French intertitles in "L’Horloge magique" (1928), Starevich's surreal puppet animation film. Thanks to Gwen Deglise, then head programmer of the Cinematheque, who recommended me to Outfest, I screened short and feature submissions at the nonprofit for four years. Most recently, in 2022, I worked as a language consultant for an episode of the AppleTV show "Little America." I translated parts of the original script into Korean and assisted dialect coach, script supervisor, and 1st AD on set.Translation English Korean

Thank you for your efforts in finding a certified native Korean to translate your English descriptions into excellent Korean! I'm Chaelin from South Korea, currently living in Seoul. I double-majored in General Education and English Education and taught English in middle school for two years. My passion for teaching languages led me to obtain a certificate of Korean Language Teacher (Level 3, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Republic of Korea). After gaining experience in various environments, I started my translation and writing career in 2020. Since then, I have completed over 400+ lyrics translations and written more than 100+ short introductions for music albums in both Korean and English for a music publishing company. Another testament to my love for languages is my long-standing habit of journaling. Since 1995, I've kept diaries, starting with illustrated notebooks. As an "archivist," observing and documenting my surroundings has become second nature to me, enriching my life in countless ways. I self-published about 200 pages book in 2019. It was a task that required a lot of focus and precision. Additionally, I have a strong interest in photography and ten years of experience in the field. Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. One of the most important things in language translation is understanding both cultures and the nuance of the sentence. I've seen many translated documents into Korean, but many of them were literally translated, which makes me sad as a native speaker. For example, “app a plant” can be literally translated into 식물을 추가하다. But unlike English, Korean doesn’t used 추가하다(add) for a planting. The verb 추가하다 usually used for adding something that is countable or in mathematics. Because the Korean language structure differs greatly from that of English, literal translation or machine translation can result in sentences with completely different meanings than the original text. Here, you can get a manually translated document. And that document will include commonly used Korean phrases as well as naturally translated sentences, allowing your documents to reach potential Korean clients more easily.Translation English Korean

I have worked as a freelance translator for 3 years here on Upwork and as an English tutor for TOEIC and CSAT for over 5 years (the National College Entrance Exam in Korea). There are three things I think are most important when it comes to translation. First of all, it's correctness. I will provide you with an accurate translation. I will translate to deliver the exact meaning and tone, not a word-for-word translation. To translate articles precisely, I always do thorough research with some materials written by professors or experts. The second is communication. I am always open to talking to you and ready to discuss a task/project and accept your input. Last but not least, I always meet a deadline. No matter how urgent it is, I try my best to meet a deadline and never miss it. If you think I am the person you would like to work with, feel free to contact me. Q&A How much do I translate a day - I can deal with 2,000 to 5,000 words per day (depending on the project). The ideal volume per day is 3,000 for the highest quality. I will try my best to live up to clients' expectations. Best wishes.Translation English Korean
