Hi, I'm Ludovico! I was born and raised in Italy, but when I first visited London in 2010 and heard people speak English - real English - it was love at first sight. That was the beginning of a lifelong relationship which has led me to become a full-time English teacher and part-time translator. As complex as languages may be, I believe simplicity is key: the easier a translated text is to read, the more natural it will sound, and if it sounds natural it won't leave the reader wondering whether it has been translated from another language, or worse, how well it has been translated. To me, the most challenging yet most exciting thing about translating is finding the sweet spot where clarity and creativity meet to create a natural, native-like text. I have a BA in Foreign Languages & Literatures (English, German, Russian), an MA in Linguistics, and I recently became qualified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL/TESOL certified).
