As a Ph.D. graduate in Psychology from Capella University and an MS in Marketing and Communications from Franklin University, I've dedicated my career to understanding human behavior and applying this knowledge to various fields, including education and marketing. My dissertation on "Resilience Among Adults Who Overcame Childhood Neglect" has not only deepened my expertise in resilience, neglect, and trauma but also fueled my passion for making a significant impact in the educational sector. Although my teaching experience is somewhat limited, I believe my strong interpersonal and communication skills, honed through years of professional and academic endeavors, enable me to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.
My journey in education has taken me to the Columbus Literacy Council as an ESOL Instructor, where I've had the privilege of teaching English while incorporating American culture and literature, and work readiness skills. This role has allowed me to stay closely connected with my students, observing their performance and readiness for exams, and tailoring lesson plans to meet their unique needs. My time at Central Ohio Technical College, teaching subjects ranging from Sociology and Cultural Diversity to Introduction to Psychology and Small Group Communications, has been equally rewarding. These experiences have not only enhanced my facilitation skills but also allowed me to guide students in critically examining various societal dimensions and applying psychological principles to real-life situations.
In addition to my academic contributions, my professional experience in marketing and communications has been extensive and diverse. My current role as a Marketing Support Specialist at GOSH Enterprises involves managing internal marketing support, enhancing response times, and fostering continuous improvement in marketing processes. My past roles have spanned from Contract Specialist at the Defense Supply Center of Columbus to Contract Coordinator at Buckeye Health Plan, where I supported procurement activities and coordinated contracts, ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
My voice-over and talent work, an exciting dimension of my career, intertwines seamlessly with my academic and professional paths. This unique skill set not only showcases my versatility but also enhances my ability to communicate complex ideas in an engaging and accessible manner. Whether through teaching, presenting at conferences, or contributing to marketing campaigns, my voice-over talents bring an added layer of dynamism and connectivity to my work, making educational and marketing content more relatable and impactful.
As an active member of the American Psychological Association and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), I am committed to continuous learning and professional development. My interests in qualitative research, cognitive development, and resilience studies, alongside my passion for public speaking, communications, marketing, and entrepreneurship, drive my ambition to inspire and empower others in their educational and professional journeys.
I believe my unique blend of psychological insight, marketing acumen, and voice-over talent positions me uniquely to contribute to the fields of education and communication, where I aim to make a lasting impact by fostering understanding, resilience, and growth.
