With that change, I had to quickly move into the role of project director for our online veg challenge, 10 Weeks to Vegan. This involved managing direct staff and international contractors, developing effective processes for creating new series, and coordinating with employees across multiple departments so we could tailor the program to over 50 different countries. Managing the project required a multifaceted approach, including overseeing my team, reviewing and reporting on research, writing quarterly reports, training staff on new software and platforms, developing procedures, and, most importantly, communicating effectively across several departments in order to achieve our goals. I was able to effectively maintain this position while also wearing many other hats: writing our bi-weekly newsletter, conducting program evaluation, maintaining the website, writing and editing content, and working alongside other teams to contribute to many other tasks. With a Master of Social Work degree in Community Organization from the University of Michigan, I am well-versed in developing and implementing initiatives to support diverse communities, promoting social change. My interest in social causes lie in my fundamental belief in equity. My time earning my MSW taught me about the various systems behind some of our society's biggest challenges. I just moved to New York City in October 2023 but, before this, had been traveling in a camper van full-time for three years. I mention this to highlight my dedication and ability to adapt.
