Hello! I am an experienced professional with several years of knowledge and practice in: Project Management as a Program Cost and Schedule Control Analyst on multi-million/multi-billion dollar projects, Project Controls, Strategic Planning, Engineering Planning, Earned Value Management (EVM) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation, Configuration Management, and writing/editing. I command full utilization of Primavera P6 software, as well as MS Project and MS Project Server. My career background includes industry experience in oil and gas, energy, aerospace/defense, IT, litigation, and media.
I have a demonstrated proficiency in and a proven track record of:
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance measurement implementation/analysis
Schedule development (all phases) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development
Budgeting and Estimate at Complete (EAC) management
Integrated schedule/cost performance and variance analysis/reporting
Forecasting and Baseline Control
Schedule risk assessment/Performance bias
Critical Path Method (CPM) networking
Customer Interface/Interaction and teamwork with customers and contractors
Tendering and Execution scheduling
Configuration Management, Writing and Editing
Proficient with the following software packages:
o Scheduling Applications: Primavera P6, Open Plan Professional (OPP), MS Project, MS Project Server, Milestones Professional, Enovia (Program Central)
o Microsoft Applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, Outlook
o SAP, Power BI (working knowledge) Cobra, SharePoint, Bulletin Board Posting Tool (BBPT)
I have extensive experience in planning and scheduling arena since 1999, and I have extensive experience in the aerospace and oil and gas industries. I have worked for the big players and high-visibility players in the aerospace industry - Boeing and Lockheed Martin, and the big companies in the O&G industry, such as Schlumberger, GE Energy, and Chevron. I supported NASA directly and a host of smaller sub-contractors over the years before exploring the O&G and IT industries. I understand the strict, organized flow of the aerospace industry's horizontal and vertical logic integration, the criticality of resource loading, and the reporting functions that support Earned Value Management (EVM). I have also participated in various audits such as DCMA audits, JSRs, ISRs, and CAM reviews.
I have used MS Project and MS Project server since 1999. I have used the tools in depth to create detailed, integrated Level 4 and below schedules from scratch. This includes integrated logic, resource loading and reporting functions. My last long-term assignment was on a global SAP and PeopleConnect for Schlumberger for almost three years. We utilized MS Project in detail to run the program on a global scale, and it required meetings and communication with the stakeholders. There was MS Project training involved as well to my counterparts in Pune, India, who did not have a project management background. I also have driven these schedules during a 24/7 operation for cutover for IT projects with Schlumberger over the past few years.
I have used Primavera P6 since 2011, using the tool in-depth to create resource-loaded and complex integrated schedules for a variety of engineering projects. I have also tested and developed a working EVMS in Primavera P6 for Cameron International's Process Systems division (now Schlumberger) between 2013 and 2014, and authored multiple processes and procedures in the utilization of Primavera, supported by scheduling best practices. I have also trained and mentored junior users over the past several years in the utilization of Primavera P6, and trained senior-level planners/schedulers, project coordinators, and project managers on the utilization of Primavera P6 and the EVMS that I created in the system.
I am also a solid writer, editor and process flow documentation expert. I possess full command of the proper English language. I am also a published book author. I have developed and championed multiple process flows and written documentation via policies and procedures for various companies.
In my most recent assignment as a consultant, I championed the technical procedure for the Change Request process for all of our project plans. I developed the technical policy and procedure for Cameron International's (Process Systems division) EVMS in Primavera P6. I also trained the planner/schedulers and project managers on the use of the EVMS, a method that they did not previously have. This technical documentation outlined the details of setting up, maintaining, managing, and reporting from Primavera P6. In my past outside of the O&G and aerospace industries, I have written material for public relations, media, sports, and more.
I hope that I can help you accomplish your goals. I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
Melanie
