I have managed production teams in London, New York, and Hong Kong. During my earlier days, I worked for several other titles, including International Law Firm Management, International Leasing Digest, International Commercial Litigation, Trade Finance, Aircraft Economics, Airfinance Journal, and Central European. I also covered several industry body conferences with a daily newsletter. The Industry bodies we covered are the International Bar Association (IBA), The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), and The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). A small editorial team and a production person attend the main annual conference, covering the key events and sessions from the opening ceremony to the close. The production person is responsible for most photography as well as the daily production duties of the newsletter. I’ve traveled around the world, researching and buying the print and then producing many of these event newsletters. Along with our group of magazines, I’ve worked on associated supplements and legal directories, including Expert Guides, Benchmark Litigation, World Tax, World Transfer Pricing, and the IFLR1000. I helped launch LMG’s Legal Events, which started with annual awards ceremonies for each magazine and has now grown to over 50 events per year. I was responsible for producing over half of these event materials. For each event, we produce a brochure; speaker badges; tent cards; banners, stage signage, agendas, PowerPoint presentations, and holding slides. For the award ceremonies, we also produce the award artwork, which the engravers use to make the trophies. I have worked with many international law firms, including Morrison & Foerster, Allen & Overy, Davis Polk & Wardwell, and Latham & Watkins on a number of book titles. I also worked exclusively with Herbert Smith on the "history of" title, a book where I had to design each page from scratch, well over a month’s work. Here I had to work with the firm’s book editor, a researcher, and a photo researcher. I have great communication skills and an excellent capacity to work remotely, I have not worked in an office environment in over 14 years. I moved to Portugal after my parent’s death, to run their business here. Euromoney refused to accept my resignation, so I’ve continued to work for them here on a consultancy contract basis. With the introduction of IR35 in the UK, it is no longer possible for me to work for them any longer.
