Here you can find more details about me:
I am a native Turkish speaker fluent in English, with an IELTS Academic overall score of 8. My translation journey commenced in 2019 during my bachelor's studies. Throughout my freelancing career, I have undertaken various translation tasks, including app and website localization, subtitle translation, proofreading, transcription, and content writing. My prior experience is based on topics regarding politics, economy, finance, health, gaming, investment, and travelling.
I offer flexibility, a strong work ethic and quick but excellent work. Currently, I work as a localization manager for a gaming company since May 2020, overseeing two game apps and a website. Additionally, I handle content writing, proofreading, and customer support in Turkish for them. For the other client of mine, I translate blog articles on trading, investing, and finance.
Beyond translation, I have gained valuable experience in various roles, including organizational coordination at a political party, project coordination at a public policy think tank in Ankara, an Erasmus+ Traineeship at an NGO in Dresden/Germany focusing on community development, and internships at the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a textile firm. These experiences have honed my skills in creating MarCom strategies, conducting social media analysis, preparing electoral campaigns, and designing with Adobe Illustrator.
Other than my work experience, I am a graduate with a high honours degree in Political Science and International Relations from Yeditepe University. I studied for a minor degree at Maastricht University (NL) in Globalisation and Development. I believe in being multi-disciplinary and multi-dimensional. Therefore, besides politics, I learned how to design and took storytelling courses. I have completed a course on Transmedia Storytelling provided by UNSW Sydney (The University of New South Wales) on Coursera.org. My academic knowledge includes development, international relations, public policy, migration, gender studies and climate change. I aim to obtain my master's in international relations and foreign policy. I have previous academic research experience (thesis and research) in the EU, democracy, democratic backsliding, Eurovision, identity, Europeanisation and de-Europeanisation, migration and refugees.
In addition to my work experience, I am currently a master's student at Sapienza University of Rome, MSc Development and International Cooperation Sciences. I hold a high-honours bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Yeditepe University. I pursued a minor degree at Maastricht University (NL) in Globalisation and Development. Embracing a multi-disciplinary approach, I have expanded my skills in design and storytelling through courses like Transmedia Storytelling provided by UNSW Sydney on Coursera.org. My academic knowledge spans development, international relations, public policy, migration, gender studies, and climate change. I have conducted academic research on the EU, democracy, democratic backsliding, Eurovision, identity, Europeanisation and de-Europeanisation, migration, and refugees.
I believe that my enthusiasm for learning, combined with my dedication to assisting others, makes me an excellent choice as a freelancer. Translation, for me, serves as a means to transcend limitations, boundaries, and borders, facilitating communication between different languages and cultures
