I became an engineer because I saw the chance to make a real positive impact on the world. Engineering gives me the opportunity to create something that has never existed and can make people’s lives better. It also gives me the chance to learn something new everyday. I am continually looking to better my skills through research of new technologies and ideologies. I began my career after graduating from Tulsa Welding School's Master Welder program in 2006 when I took a job at Peterson Fluid Systems in Colorado fabricating and welding performance oil system parts for race cars (NASCAR, NHRA, etc). I built high-finish custom oil tanks and other performance parts leading the shop in production levels and quality with the majority of parts passing first inspection. From there I moved onto work with the monumental sculpture fabrication and design company, Junoworks, were I was part of a three-person fabrication team, creating monumental public art installations across the country. The unique nature of each project required creativity, flexibility, and rapid problem solving. I welded many types of metal with many methods in many unique scenarios. This job required lots of on the job creativity and problem solving which I now can apply to any project to effectively solve unforeseen problems as they arise. Working as welder during the day allowed me to attend night school at the University of Colorado Denver where in 2012 I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineer with a Mathematics minor. While attending school, I also held two long term professional internships. After graduating with Special Honors in 2012, I took a job as a Mechanical and Systems engineer back at Pathfinder Systems. With them, I designed and built military helicopter simulators in the US and abroad, contributing to all levels of the engineering lifecycle, from initial business acquisition, to detailed mechanical design (SolidWorks intensive), to final onsite installation and testing. After nearly 4 years with Pathfinder, I decided I was tired of working with simulators and wanted to work on things that actually fly! I was hired by Sierra Nevada Corporation in 2015. While there, I designed metallic and composite structures to support upgrades for various military aircraft. In 2017, I transferred projects inside SNC from the military to the space side, where I now work as a Structures Design Engineer, designing primary and secondary flight structures for the dream chaser spacecraft. In my free time, I also love to build things, primarily furniture and metal art. I am also currently designing a custom house for us. Although I do still maintain a full time job, I am an extremely high energy and productive individual. I am not content to lay around and watch TV, and would much rather spend my freetime being productive and working diligently to solve your problems in creative and efficient ways.
